A vintage World War II-era British military No. 8 Mk. I Elevation Telescope (an elbow telescope) used for anti-aircraft artillery or predictor systems.
This telescope / gun sight features an angled optical eyepiece with a rubber eyecup and a cylindrical metal body finished in olive drab paint.
Designed to mount onto anti-aircraft gun mountings or tracking directors (such as the Kerrison Predictor) to measure or sight elevation angles.
