Inmarsat watch
This watch was developed to help locate people in trouble, using the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System or GMDSS.
If you survived a plane crash in the jungle, and pressed the button, a signal would be sent to a dedicated satellite, pinpointing your location, to help rescuers find you.
If you broke a leg mountain climbing, or your boat sank at sea, and you were surrounded by circling sharks, if you pressed the button, then help would be on its way, unless your battery ran out, in which case you would be shark bait, but don’t worry, it would all be over very quickly.
Sharks hate it, it has helped to save many lives.
