Highly unusual brass travelling writing case, comprising pen holder with inkwell attached.
It is highly decorated, with images of the pyramids, Sphinx, palm trees, birds, fish, and various animals, and is in excellent condition other than the hinge.
Made in the Middle East in the 19thC, it measures approx. 9” x 2”, is made from thick brass, and weighs in at 414 gm.
The hinge needs soldering, hence the low price of £95.
